EL EL FRIJOLES, Mexican Food announces today a trio of special dinners to be held this summer in support of three Peninsula-based not-for-profit organizations. The Sunday Suppers for a Cause will consist of monthly fine-dining meals served at the Sargentville taqueria, with the goal of funding 3 groups doing important work on The Peninsula in a variety of areas.

The dinners will kick off Sunday June 24th with a benefit for the Blue Hill Heritage Trust, to support their capital campaign that is raising funds to finalize their purchase and protection of land adjacent to the Caterpillar Hill overlook. July’s dinner, served on Sunday July 22nd will benefit At Home, to support their work providing innovative elder care solutions to the Peninsula’s aging population. Sunday, August 19th’s dinner will be in support of Nichols Day Camp’s Camper Nutrition Program, which has been established to provide daily healthy snacks to all of the children attending their popular day camp programs.

The restaurant will donate 100% of the proceeds from these dinners directly to the organizations involved, the dinners will be prepared and served by the restaurant’s employees and staff on a volunteer basis, aided by additional volunteers from the community as well as from the individual organizations.

Reservations for all dinners will be available beginning Monday June 11th, and can be made by calling the restaurant directly at 207.359.2486. The meals served will feature innovative menus, based in a farm-to-table style, crafted from a variety of cuisines by EL EL FRIJOLES’ chef Michele Levesque, and will feature ingredients from the Blue Hill Peninsula and throughout Eastern Maine. Vegetarian options will be available for each dinner by prior arrangement.

EL EL FRIJOLES, Mexican Food is open for it’s 12 season of serving an innovative, scratch-made menu combining traditional taqueria fare with the bounty of culinary treasures produced on The Peninsula and throughout Maine. The taqueria is open Wednesday through Saturday, from 11am to 8pm and is a dog, motorcycle, transgender and gluten-free inclusive environment.
